Terraces, contemplation and relaxation
Alpe di Caviano offers a relaxing environment with panoramic views of the Po Valley and the Alps. The main building overlooks a large meadow where wild animals graze freely. The view is spectacular at sunrise and sunset, also visible from the rooms on the second floor and from the terrace in the courtyard. An ideal place to enjoy moments of tranquility and contemplation.
Caviano and the discovery of Monte Generoso
Monte Generoso is one of the most scenic mountains in the Ticino L' Alpe di Caviano can be considered the ideal destination for a day hike or a stay in nature, and can be reached on foot starting from Castel San Pietro or Bellavista. Walking in these places one can enjoy breathtaking views.
Views and surroundings
Sulla terrazza dell'Alpe di Caviano si gode di un paesaggio ampio e mozzafiato, ideale per avvistare animali selvatici. La collinetta circostante è perfetta per la meditazione, mentre il pascolo adiacente è ottimo per il parapendio. La rete di sentieri escursionistici permette di esplorare la zona, incluso Scudellate, , dove si trovano altre strutture dell'Albergo Diffuso del Monte Generoso.
Breakfasts and appetizers
After spending a peaceful and relaxing night's sleep, we invite you to enjoy a tasty breakfast of local products, which will be served until 08:30 am on the panoramic terrace. In case of bad weather we will be pleased to welcome you in the cozy restaurant.
Aperitifs will be served from 17:30 in the afternoon and will allow you to taste local red and white wines, as well as other liquors.
The Milk Tollbooth
In the traditional rural context, the casello (casèll) was the room used to store milk in a cool environment, especially during summer periods, before its transformation into butter. Alpe di Caviano, too, has its own "casello del latte," which at the behest of the Patriziato has recently been fully restored and is now available to guests of the facility. The small building carved out of the rock is located at an altitude of 931m and was probably built by the mountain people for the purpose of storing milk before processing and to store food products that needed a cool environment. The structure, made of limestone, has a rectangular plan and measures 4m (in front) and 3.20m deep under the mountain. Restored and enhanced, it now represents an important testimony to mountain pasture life.
